Albert Ting International Trade Specialist, Office of the China Economic Area, U.S. Department of Commerce Albert Ting has worked as an International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of the China Economic Area, in Washington, D.C. since January 2009. His portfolio includes technology (information technology including health IT, telecom, and semiconductors) and financial services (including insurance, banking, and credit cards). He acts as office liaison with the Trade Agreements & Compliance Office. Within the Market Access and Compliance Unit of the U.S. Department of Commerce, he promotes fair trade and investment by working to ensure greater market access for U.S. exporters to China and China's compliance with trade laws and agreements. Albert was previously an Anglo-American law lecturer at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. He obtained his J.D./Master's in International Relations dual degree at American University in 2007, with a focus on Sino-Japanese relations, China business law, and China foreign policy. He received a Bachelor's (cum laude) in East Asian History at U.C. Berkeley in 2000. |
