Mr. Joon-Woon Chong is Regional Director, Americas, for the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the lead government agency responsible for planning and executing strategies shaping the future of Singapore's economy and enhancing its position as a global business center.

Based in the San Francisco office, Joon-Woon oversees EDB’s multiple offices covering the western half of U.S. (including Texas), western Canada and Central America and is responsible for facilitating business partnerships and investment into Singapore.

Joon-Woon joined EDB in 1998 and has held a variety of different roles over his 12 years in the organization. He started in the Resources Development Division where he developed workforce training and international recruitment programs. In two years, he was promoted to Assistant Head and subsequently transferred to the Semiconductor Group where he was responsible for the development of the semiconductor industry cluster in Singapore.

In 2002, Joon-Woon was posted to EDB’s Chicago office as Centre Director and covered the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.  He returned to Singapore in 2006, taking on the role as Head of Electronics Components.  He was then appointed to several concurrent positions including Head of Industrial Design, Head of Precision Engineering and Head of Americas for EDB. In May 2008, Joon-Woon joined the San Francisco office as Regional Director (Western Americas), Americas.

Joon-Woon also sits on the board of directors for the Singapore America Business Association (SABA), the premier association strategically linking North America with Singapore and Asia.
