Robert Broadfoot is a very highly regarded analyst of economic and political conditions in Asian economies. He is the founder and Managing Director of Political & Economic Risk Consultancy, Ltd. Mr. Broadfoot is directly responsible for managing PERC's research and consulting involving mainland China and the Greater China region. He is regularly called upon to conduct Asian briefing seminars for such organizations as the Bankers Association For Foreign Trade in the US and also conducts classes in country risk assessment techniques at the graduate program of the Pacific Rim Bankers Program held at the University of Washington each Summer.

PERC publishes the fortnightly Asian Intelligence; Country Risk Monitoring Service reports on nine countries; and an annual Business Environment Report. The latter publication compares economic, social and political factors of 14 economies: Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam.
