Richard Lung
Country Manager, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco
Richard Lung is a Country Manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Department of Banking Supervision and Regulation, Country Analysis Unit. He is responsible for monitoring financial sector and economic developments in China, Taiwan, Korea and Southeast Asia, and assessing the parent financial condition and performance of Asian banks operating in the United States.
Prior to his current position, he was an international economist with the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. Over the course of three years, his responsibilities there included monitoring global financial market developments, analyzing banking sector developments in Northeast Asia as well as Latin America and coordinating U.S. economic policies related to Southeast Asia and Taiwan. He has also spent six months at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors where he was the regional financial analyst for Asia.
He graduated with a B.A. magna cum laude in Government from Harvard University and a M.A.L.D. with concentrations in International Business Relations and International Monetary Theory from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
