About our speaker: Craig Allen joined the Department of Commerce in 1985. In the 27 years since his first role as a presidential management intern, he has served in Taipei (Director of the American Trade Center in Taipei), Beijing (Commercial Attache and later Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs), Tokyo (Commercial Attache then Deputy Senior Commercial Officer) and, later in Johannesburg, South Africa to serve a four-year tour as the Senior Commercial Officer in South Africa with responsibilities for 16 African countries. He now serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia U.S. Department of Commerce.
