Asia Night 2004, held at the Herbst Pavilion at Fort Mason Center on Friday May 14, featured the Olympic Dragon banners that Artist Pop Zhao paraded over the Great Wall of China (helping Beijing secure the 2008 Olympics), his Great Buddha banner that adorned the Asian Art Museum at the time of its opening, and other striking art works. After an exquisite Asian fusion dinner by Dan McCall & Associates, the New Silk Road Award was presented to one of Asia's most distinguished business leaders, Washington SyCip, known as the "Wise Owl of Asia." Sponsor of the embroidered silk presentation piece was Linda Wrigglesworth Chinese Costumes and Textiles, London. Guests also enjoyed fabulous Asia travel packages and other treasures at the silent auction, and a fabulous Asia-influenced fashion show coordinated by Azalea Boutique.
